How To Change The Desktop Wallpaper On Your PC or Mac?

If you bought one of my photo wallpapers, you can read below to find out how to change the desktop background on your PC or Mac.

Download the desktop wallpaper file

After buying one or several of my desktop wallpapers and completing the payment process  you will get to the download page. You will also get an order confirmation email, with the download links.

Click the download link to begin downloading a .zip file with the wallpaper.

After downloading the zip file, double-click it to extract it. Take a note of where the desktop wallpaper file gets extracted to, or move it into a folder that you can easily find again.

Below you will see a step-by-step guide on how to change the desktop background on a PC or a Mac:

How to change the desktop background on Windows 7?

  1. Just right-click on an empty or blank part of the desktop and choose: Personalize. This will make the control panel’s personalization pane appear.

  2. Next, click the Desktop Background option at the bottom left corner of the dialogue window.

    Click the Browse button to see pictures from different folders. Navigate to the folder, where you extracted the downloaded desktop wallpaper to.
  3. Click on the wallpaper image file, and Windows 7 places it onto your desktop’s background.

    Click the Save Changes button.

How to change the desktop background on Mac?

  1. Find the location where you extracted the downloaded desktop wallpaper file using the Finder application.
  2. Right-click the image file (On a one-button mouse, hold down the CTRL-key and click in order to “right click.”
  3. Select the Set Desktop Picture option at the bottom of the right-click drop-down menu. Your desktop should change automatically, though it may take a second for a high-resolution image.
  4. If you are not satisfied, with how it fits the desktop background, go to System Preferences -> Desktop and Screensaver. Here you can change the option “Fill Screen” to “Fit Screen”.
